Workplace Risk Hazard Assessment

Manual Material Handling Techniques
This class is focused on teaching the proper positions to maintain when performing physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. The session is presented in the specific workplace, so that employees can participate in a practical session using actual materials handled while on the job.
Office Ergonomics Train the Trainer
This program promotes hands-on learning of basic office workstation analysis. This session is geared towards instructing the employee, supervisor, or management in basic ergonomic concepts such as properly adjusting their chairs and workstations.
NIDMAR Certified Disability Management Audits
Occupational Concepts offers access to the Consensus Based Disability Management Audit, licensed by the National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR). The audit tool provides the employer with a comprehensive report highlighting the efficiencies and effectiveness of their disability management program and is compared to International best practices.
Disability Management Program Development and Consultation
Consultation services provided to engage employers in the development, implementation, and/or monitoring of a formal disability management program. The objective being to reduce the human and financial cost of injury or illness.
Early and Safe Return to Work Program Development
Assisting employers to develop and implement an early and safe return to work program, in order to reduce the human and financial costs of being off work due to an injury or illness. The service is tailored to the needs of the client but can include guidance in program development, supervisor training sessions, employee rollout sessions, and follow-up support.
Mental Health First Aid Training
This two day training, delivered by an instructor certified through the Mental Health Commission of Canada, will educate participants on how to recognize a change in behavior, respond with confident conversation and guide an individual, experiencing a mental health crisis, to the appropriate resources and support.
Disability Management Training
This workshop is focused on helping train key personnel to better manage employees from the perspective of injury or illness. There will also be training on how to comply with applicable legislation and the Duty to Accommodate while keeping costs under control.
Safe Transfer Class
Geared towards the nursing home industry, Safe Transfer Class is a practical and interactive session that teaches employees how to safely perform one and two person transfers, while protecting the safety of the patient as well as themselves.
